Rock Elements is a design/fabrication studio devoted to the development of concrete and steel in furniture and larger built design. The work is experimental in nature which arises from an understanding of concrete’s strengths and limitations. Design is emphasized to continually push the existing concrete vernacular.
Objects are designed to be placed in an indoor (though they can be used outdoors) setting and are sealed and waxed for stain protection. The concrete used is especially engineered for strength and surface quality. Each piece is entirely custom fabricated in-studio and tailored to the client.
Currently work is being exhibited at Aedis Design in Birmingham, Michigan and Oneline Studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Rock Elements has been cited for its new uses of concrete on the Lafarge North America website.
